Gynecological diseases screening

1.Benign tumors:

such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and so on. Uterine fibroids are located in the pelvic cavity and are the most common benign tumors in gynecological disease. Among the females in the childbearing age, the incidence is about 20 per cent; and the older they are, the higher the incidence is. Among the females after menopause, the incidence is up to 40 to 50 per cent. The Uterine fibroids are almost benign tumors, and the malignant ratio is just 2 parts per thousand. However, you should keep observing the symptoms and come to see the doctor regularly to follow up the size of the uterine fibroid to get along with the uterine fibroids without incident.

The most common ovarian cysts you have heard is ovarian chocolate cyst. It is a lesion of endometriosis, and the name comes from the liquid which looks like chocolate color inside the cyst while the doctor separates the cyst during a surgery. Chocolate cyst is a common gynecological disease; some patients might not have symptom, but some patient might have dysmenorrhea, chronic lower abdominal pain and even infertility. Due to the lack of typical symptoms of ovarian diseases, it is recommended that you should always pay attention to your own physical symptoms, and do not forget the gynecological ultrasound when you arrange the health examination, and follow-up regularly.

2.Endometrial cancer:

it is often occurred in the females after menopause. If the patient has the symptoms, such as menstrual bleeding symptom, the doctor should take the uterine endometrial cells to do the pathological sections examination for the diagnosis and the cells can also use ultrasound examination to check the thickness of the endometrium for supporting the diagnosis. Once the patient is diagnosed with endometrial cancer, the doctor will treat the disease through surgery, and aid with radiation, hormones therapy and chemotherapy.

3.Ovarian cancer:

it is commonly known as "silent killer", due to its early symptoms is just like gastrointestinal problems, and thus delay the diagnosis and treatment timing. At present, the screening tests of ovarian cancer are internal pelvic examination, ultrasound scan and plus blood tests of the related serum values, such as the commonly used CA-125 value to do the screening, to get higher Effectiveness.

4.Breast cancer:

for the women's breasts healthy, it is recommended that every woman to do the breast-protection trilogy:
i.  Monthly do the breasts self-check.
ii. Females, with the age under 40 years, are recommended to do the breast ultrasound examination.
iii.Females, with the age over 45 years, are recommended to do the breast X-ray examination (granted by Taiwan National Health Agency)
